Note: Please note that the current build only supports the Intel® RealSense™ T261. Using a different sensor will require you to get your own ribbon adapters, and probably modify the 3D-printing files. Other adapters for popular 6-DOF sensors are in the works.
This bundle includes all the 3D-printed parts you need to build the Project North Star Deck X, CombineReality’s modified version of the Project North Star v3.2 headset.
The Deck X is more compact than our previous modified versions and comes with the Integrator, our custom-built USB Hub System with Integrated Arduino and Flash Drive. We’ve also added built-in programmable buttons that can do whatever you want—but come pre-programmed for adjusting optical ergonomics factors, like IPD and eye position relative to the lenses.
The most exciting part about the Integrator, though, might be that it brings down the use of cables down from 4 to just 2! Not only does that reduce the number of USB ports used on your computer, it greatly reduces the weight of the cable bundle hanging off the back of your head. And, to be frank, it also just looks a lot less janky.
3D-printed parts included in this bundle:
- Main Assembly: optics bracket, display trays, slide mounts, forehead rest base shape
- Headgear Assembly
- Deck X Additions: D-pad, buttons, lid, LMC mounting spacer, mounting bracket for North Star Integrator (T261 version)
For a full overview of the kit's content, please check the Bill of Materials tab.
These parts are printed on a prosumer-grade FDM 3D printer, so they don’t have the fit and finish of the injection molded parts found in consumer products. Expect some minor blemishes etc.
We will pre-install the heat-set threaded inserts where necessary, so you don’t have to do it by yourself.
If you have any questions or requests, please contact us. Good luck with your North Star build!
